The fifth round of the Bosch EMTB Challenge took place this weekend under adverse weather conditions. Inserted in the traditional festival of the austrian region of Salzkammergut, the electric bicycles’ competition counted with approximately 30 kilometers, 1200 meters of positive gradient and six special tests.
Among the 150 athletes present, Miranda Factory’s E-Team colors from Águeda where represented by Emanuel Pombo from Madeira, and Tiago Ladeira.
The rain was a continued presence throughout the competition, however the Portuguese duo set a very strong pace early on. Emanuel Pombo repeated the feat of the German journey in Willingen, thus ensuring victory for Miranda Bike Parts. "It was a difficult race because of the weather conditions. We started and ended the race always under rain, which made the race difficult, especially the special test climbing, that were more slippery and with less traction in many sections that required triple the effort. But I'm happy to have had a very consistent race, dealing well with the cold and rain and thus guarantee another victory in the competition. "
Tiago Ladeira, who made his electric debut in this competition in Austria, took full advantage of his team-mate's experience. The young athlete showed an enormous maturity, thus ending the race in the second place overall. "It was a great experience on e-bikes and I'm very happy with this result. The only bad thing was the bad weather, however I hope to compete again in this strand. I take this opportunity to thank Miranda Bike Parts for all the support. "
The next race of Miranda Factory’s E-Team will be the final round of the Bosch EMTB Challenge, taking place in Avoriaz - France from 22th to 24th August.
